Public space and symbols of collective identity in Georgia are heavily embattled. My country of birth is in the throes of a deep crisis, often interpreted as a split between Russia and the European Union. I also find areas of conflict within my family and within myself. Through private and professional travel, we have very different relationships with Europe. The expectations, norms, and values I encounter among my friends in Germany do not correspond to those I grew up with in Georgia. This results in conflicts that are unsettling and stressful, but also exciting and productive. In this film, I combine images from private and public spaces with narrated dreams from off-screen. The mood fluctuates between lethargy and activism, resignation and hope.
